EXHIBITIONS FOR THE SAWYER GALLERY 2022 ANNOUNCED

We are pleased to announce an exciting programme for 2022.

The season starts with an innovative collaboration between Mandy Haggith, an Assynt based poet, and fourteen other artists. Entitled ‘Trees Meet Sea’ this first exhibition in the gallery since 2019 opens on the 11th April.

In Moments in Time, Rosanne Wiseman will present her interpretations of the local landscape around Loch Ewe using collage and mixed media.

In the final exhibition this year in the Sawyer Gallery, Erlend & Pamela Tait, painter and printmaker respectively, will give their impressions of Inverewe Garden, together with a contemporary portrait of Mairi Sawyer.

NEW EXHIBITIONS IN ALL GALLERIES - August 5th 2019

We have been hard at work presenting three new sets of work in our various galleries.

In the Art Hub these include paintings by Lisa O’Brien, Lynne F Forrester’s cloud studies, ceramic pieces from Iain Campbell and Leon Patchett, and pewter and metal works by Jill Holmes, altogether producing a completely different appearance to the gallery from the inaugural exhibition. The latter was extremely successful with sales of artist’s works far exceeding our expectations.

Osgoods Cafe Gallery hosts some beautiful watercolour works by Mary King, including a set of her trees…

And David Sandum has started his residency, starting with the bare walls of the Sawyer Gallery which he will fill with paintings as he works in and around the Garden (or in the gallery when the midges defeat him!). Please pop in and see him - he’s always up for a chat, and even to demonstrate his style and perhaps encourage you to try!
